Wellness Spotlight: On Clearing Out the Fog and Getting Back on Track

This young man came to us about six and a half months ago. He has a supportive family and academic feats under his belt, but came to us feeling a little uncertain about his next steps after earning his Bachelor’s degree a couple of years ago from a highly sought N.C. university. He felt stuck, experiencing unproductive days, had lost interest in his favorite sport, stated he was addicted to his phone and overall lacked vision and motivation on what to do next.

Over the course of our work, he has obtained a full-time job in his future field and career of choice, earning valuable work experience!! He applied to Medical school *AND* got an interview (we’re waiting to hear back, send good wishes)! He went on an international volunteer trip where he was able to obtain additional and practical practice in his future line of work. He’s playing basketball again, spending time with friends, completed a spiritual fast, is eating mindfully, using his phone more mindfully at night, is feeling intrinsically motivated, looking into near future volunteer opportunities, and holding a steady, stable job that is good for him and that he’s gained confidence in, among other healthy things he set out to do!

He says health coaching helped him clear out the fog in his path and it helped get him back on track.

Rosy was attentive, non-judgemental, always positive, and helped me make great strides. She always emphasized my accomplishments so that I could remember the progress I made along the way. And even when I didn’t feel like I was progressing, she knew to put things into perspective and to remind me to focus on the main goals. I am very appreciative for her and the work she has done.

He continues to be surrounded by a loving family that supports him and we will continue to celebrate him as he continues to do great things in life and as a future Ophthalmologist.
